All young artists must audition. Admission is open to collegiate undergraduate and graduate flute, clarinet, oboe, horn and bassoon players. Auditionees are required to perform two contrasting pieces demonstrating musical, technical, and articulation ability. Accompaniment must be provided if called for in the repertoire. A letter of recommendation from the student’s present or recent teacher is required for admission.
In-Person Audition Procedure
Please call the Madeline Island Music Camp office at (612) 871-7781 to schedule an in-person audition. Live auditions must be completed by April 16, 2012.
Recorded Audition Procedure
Audition by CD (video and audio tapes are not accepted). Please mail audition recordings to: Madeline Island Music Camp, 118 East 26th Street, Suite 200, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55404. Audition recordings must be received by April 16, 2012.
Auditionees will be informed of results by late April. The Madeline Island Music Camp reserves the right to make repertoire and ensemble changes at any time.
