In-Person Audition Procedure
All young artists must audition. Admission is open to violin, viola and cello players, ages 14-24. Candidates must demonstrate ability in two contrasting excerpts (slow and fast movements of a sonata – including solo Bach – and/or concerto.) Accompanists are not required. However, string players desiring an accompanist may provide their own. All who audition in-person will be informed of the results by the end of March.
Audition by recording procedure
Auditions by recording of at least 5 minutes duration will be accepted for students who cannot attend one of the scheduled live auditions. Candidates must demonstrate ability in two contrasting excerpts (slow and fast movements of a sonata – including solo Bach – and/or concerto).
We do not accept audio-only submissions. Formats accepted include DVD and videotape. These recordings may be sent to Madeline Island Music Camp, 118 East 26th Street, Suite 200, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55404
Submissions by e-mail may be sent to info@music-camp.org. YouTube submissions also are acceptable. Please provide the exact link by e-mail. Please note your name and instrument in the Subject line and send to info@music-camp.org.
