Alumni Reunion Schedule of Events

Share happy memories and reconnect with old friends, Madeline Island Music Camp faculty and alumni during our 25th anniversary celebration this summer!  In addition to meals on campus, lodging at Madeline Island Music Camp’s newly constructed dormitory lodges and opportunities to perform chamber music in informal and concert settings, all participating alumni will enjoy:

July 7
Welcome happy hour and dinner at The Pub.

July 8
Careers in the Orchestra” workshop led by Jorja Fleezanis, former concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra and now faculty at the Indiana School of Music.

Dinner on Campus followed by story telling around the campfire.  Share your memories about Manoogian, West or other favorite Faculty.

July 9
July 9 - 25th Anniversary Recognition Dinner and Concert hosted by John Birge, classical music host from Minnesota Public Radio and featuring the Prairie Winds Quintet, the Pacifica String Quartet and young artists from the class of 2010.  Major donors including The Mahadh Fund of HRK Foundation, Virginia Townley, Edie and Michal Bristol and Art Edwards, past and present board members, volunteers and distinguished alumni will be recognized at a special seated dinner at the Woods Manor on Madeline Island catered by D’Amico Catering.

July 10
25th Anniversary Gala Concert featuring Maestro Osmo Vänskä, Music Director of the Minnesota Orchestra, conducting a 36 piece ensemble comprised of MIMC alumni, members of the camp’s faculty, MIMC Music Director Evelina Chao, the Pacifica String Quartet, Prairie Winds Quintet, outstanding young talents from the 2010 season and Jorja Fleezanis, formerly of the Minnesota Orchestra and now faculty of Indiana University, serving as concertmaster in this lakeside performance.  The concert will be held under a 5,500 square foot climate controlled Clear Span tent with wood floor set on the grounds of the historic Woods Manor overlooking Lake Superior and will be recorded by Minnesota Public Radio to be aired nationally via delayed broadcast. 

Dinner at The Lightkeeper’s Lodge, or the opportunity to attend the 25th Anniversary Gala Benefit Dinner and Dance following the concert at a reduced rate.
